Barring last minute change, the African Democratic Congress (ADC) is set to hold its national convention on Tuesday, April 14, 2026, at the Rainbow Event Center in Garki Area 8, Abuja.
The new venue selection follows a series of challenges earlier encountered and an ongoing leadership dispute with the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
The venue had been kept confidential by the party leadership amid concerns over possible disruptions.

The ADC, led by David Mark as National Chairman and Rauf Aregbesola as National Secretary, reportedly faced setbacks after being denied access to at least two venues, including the Abuja Transport Hilton Hotel, despite prior arrangements.
Amid what insiders described as attempts to frustrate the party’s activities, the ADC opted for a more discreet approach in finalizing its convention venue.
The same location previously hosted the party’s National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting.
The convention comes at a critical time for the party, which is currently locked in a legal battle with INEC over leadership recognition.
INEC had earlier suspended recognition of the David Mark-led leadership, citing a Court of Appeal ruling that ordered the maintenance of the status quo pending further legal determination.
In response, the ADC has approached the Supreme Court seeking clarity and intervention on the matter.
To ensure a hitch-free event, the party has formally notified security agencies, including the police, the Department of State Services, and the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, requesting adequate protection for delegates and party officials.
