The African Democratic Congress (ADC) on Friday announced plans to take its pro-democracy campaign to the international stage.

ADC has disclosed plans to unveil a Special Representatives Network across major global capitals as political tensions begin to rise ahead of the 2027 general elections.

In a statement shared by its spokesperson, Bolaji Abdullahi, the party said the initiative will see ADC representatives engage with foreign governments, international media, democracy institutions, and the Nigerian diaspora in cities such as Washington, D.C., London, Brussels, and Addis Ababa.

“Our representatives will engage foreign governments, international media, democracy institutions, and the Nigerian diaspora, providing regular briefings on political developments, human rights concerns, and electoral integrity,” Abdullahi said.

According to the party, the move is aimed at amplifying what it described as “credible information” about Nigeria’s political environment, while countering what it called “one-sided narratives” from the government.

Stating its reason for the initiative, Abdullahi said, “This comes amid growing attacks on our members, attempts to undermine our leadership, and efforts to restrict political participation ahead of the 2027 General Elections.”

As part of its broader strategy, the party also announced the launch of a National Documentation Initiative to systematically track and report incidents affecting political engagement, human rights, and electoral integrity across the country.

The ADC emphasized that its global outreach will focus on strengthening accountability and ensuring that Nigeria’s democratic processes remain under international scrutiny.
