Accion MFB gets data security certification

Accion Microfinance Bank has successfully achieved Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard certification under the latest version 4.0.1.

In a statement made available to our correspondent on Tuesday, the certification, officially declared by Cybervergent Limited recently, underscores the bank’s commitment to global best practices in data security and reinforces customer trust in its payment systems.

PCI DSS is a globally recognized standard designed to ensure that organizations storing, processing, or transmitting cardholder data meet stringent security requirements.

According to the statement, the certification assures customers that Accion MFB has implemented the necessary protocols to protect credit and debit card transactions from data breaches, theft, and fraud.

The bank’s Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer, Taiwo Joda, expressed pride in the achievement, noting that it reflects Accion MFB’s proactive approach to securing customer information.

“In today’s digital landscape, where cyber threats are becoming more advanced, achieving PCI DSS compliance demonstrates our proactive approach to protecting customer information and securing our payment channels,” Mr. Joda said.

This PCI DSS certification further solidifies Accion MFB’s position as a secure and customer-focused financial institution.

It added that the bank also recently earned three ISO certifications, including ISO 20000-1:2018 for IT service management, ISO 27001:2022 for information security, and ISO 22301:2019 for business continuity management, further demonstrating its commitment to operational excellence and secure banking services.
