Abumet ends 2024 with CSR programmes

The Lagos Sales Office of Abumet, a subsidiary of Julius Berger specialising in aluminium and glass solutions, recently showcased its Corporate Social Responsibility activities at its Architects Parley and Open Day, as part of its 2024 end-of-year strategic plan.

In a statement, the firm noted its CSR initiatives featured donations to the Living Fountain Orphanage Home in Victoria Island and the MASC Care Home in Abule-Egba, Lagos.

It disclosed essential items it presented to both facilities, drawing heartfelt appreciation from the beneficiaries.

At the Living Fountain Orphanage, founders Raymond Obieri and Lady Bethy Obieri expressed their gratitude for the support.

Lady Obieri said, “On behalf of everyone at Living Fountain Orphanage, I want to thank Abumet for their kindness. The new laptop is particularly exciting, as many of our current ones are no longer functional. We are also grateful for the food items. Thank you, and may God bless your company now and always.”

Similarly, at MASC Care Home, the Managing Director, Mariam Akintola, and the Chief Executive Officer, Busola Shugbamimu, received the Abumet team.

Shugbamimu remarked, “We are overwhelmed by Abumet’s donations. When they initially visited to inquire about our needs, we didn’t expect this level of support. Considering the current economic challenges, this gesture is truly remarkable.

“Just last night, we considered removing akara from our menu due to the rising cost of vegetable oil, but thanks to Abumet, akara stays. On behalf of our staff, residents, and management, we say thank you.”

As part of its Architects Parley, Abumet showcased its latest innovations and services, offering free consultations and design reviews.

Lagos Area Sales Manager, Peter Obisesan, described the event as an opportunity to engage with clients and industry professionals.

The event’s highlight was the unveiling of EvoPRO, a cost-effective aluminium and glass system designed to complement the premium Schuco system.

Obisesan noted that the new product would be fully launched in the first quarter of 2025.

“For over three decades, Abumet has delivered high-quality aluminium and glass solutions across Nigeria,” he said. “Our services include design and planning, structural analysis, prototyping, manufacturing, installation, and after-sales maintenance.”

Akinyemi Akinnole of ACCL Architects commended the Open Day initiative, calling it a forward-thinking effort that integrates architects and research technology into Abumet’s operations, fostering innovation and knowledge-sharing in the industry.
