Abuja Continental Hotel wins hospitality excellence award

Abuja Continental Hotel has received the Outstanding Hospitality Excellence Award at the National Tourism Transportation Summit & Expo 2025 for its performance in the hospitality industry.

The hotel secured the recognition at the Gala Night of the 8th edition of the summit held in Abuja.

The organisers, the Institute for Tourism Professionals of Nigeria, in partnership with industry stakeholders, presented the award to the Group General Manager, Karl Hala, and the Cluster Director of Marketing, Richard Mutanda, on behalf of the hotel.

The organisers noted that the recognition reflected “exceptional service standards, innovative hospitality offerings and sustained excellence throughout 2025.”

They added that the award celebrated institutions that set benchmarks in world-class service delivery, innovative guest experiences and contributions to Nigeria’s economic growth.

Reacting, Cluster Director of Marketing Richard Mutanda said the year had been significant for the hotel.

He said, “2025 has been a remarkable year for us. The avalanche of awards we have received reflects the extraordinary dedication of our team and the sheer magnificence of our facilities.”

The hotel noted that the award highlighted its investments in modern hospitality infrastructure, including upgraded guest rooms, conference and banquet facilities, wellness services and leisure offerings tailored to both business and leisure travellers.

Mutanda attributed the achievement to staff commitment, noting that service delivery remained central to the hotel’s operations.

“Every award we earn belongs to the men and women who work behind the scenes,” he said. “Their selfless commitment, creativity and genuine hospitality are the driving forces behind our success.”

He added that the Outstanding Hospitality Excellence Award joined several other honours the hotel had received in 2025, including recognition for its meetings, incentives, conferences and exhibitions offerings, and wellness programmes and sustainability initiatives.

Mutanda said the hotel would continue to position itself as a standard-bearer in Nigeria’s hospitality industry.

“We are proud to lead the way in shaping Nigeria’s hospitality landscape, and we look forward to continuing to exceed the expectations of every guest who walks through our doors,” he added.

Abuja Continental Hotel added that it remained committed to delivering premium hospitality services as Abuja prepared for a surge in travel and tourism activities in the festive season.
