Abia Govt To Make Traveling A Pleasure With Good Road Network

Abia State government has promised to sustain the tempo of road infrastructure and give accelerated attention to ongoing projects as a critical driver of economic development, especially during the yuletide.

With active direct labour projects in 48 locations and over 30 contract projects ongoing simultaneously in various parts of the state, the Commissioner for Information, Prince Okey Kanu, said government is deliberate about changing the narrative of infrastructure deficit among other strong points of Governor Alex Otti’s administration.

Five of such direct labour projects, Kanu explained, were completed recently, while five new ones were added to the maintenance bucket of the Ministry of Works.

On the effort to make Abia a health destination of choice, the commissioner invited applications from interested ophthalmologists, dentists, medical officers, contract and full -time consultants even as he announced that 33 additional consultants would soon be employed following a successful interview with the officials of the Ministry of Health and Civil service Commission.

He also announced that the state polytechnic has been commissioned to fabricate 100 modern refuge bins for the State Environmental Protection Agency, ASEPA, to take environmental cleanliness to a higher level.
