Dettol emerged top winner at the third edition of the Nigerian Marketing Awards which recognises brands, agencies, and journalists’ excellence and innovation in marketing.

The NMA which was recently held in Lagos and themed ‘Ignite,’ saw Dettol clinch two major awards: Campaign of the Year for its Big Bang Blossom campaign and Fragrance of the Year for its Dettol Skin Care product, according to a statement.

Tiger Beer, from Nigerian Breweries Plc, was crowned Brand of the Year, with other notable winners including Indomie Noodles, which was recognised for the Best Corporate Social Responsibility Campaign of the Year, and Chivita, which took home the award for Best Use of Social Media.

Goldberg Black won Alcoholic Brand of the Year, while Modupeoluwa Aremo of Grand Oak Limited was celebrated as the Inspirational Marketing Leader.

The Rising Star in Marketing award went to Odinaka George from C-Way Foods, while Oluwafemi Adeyemi of BrandIconImage was named Marketing Journalist of the Year.

Rekit Benkista emerged as Company of the Year, solidifying its impact in the Nigerian market.

A marketing expert Charles Otudo, in his keynote address, emphasised the transformative power of personal branding, tying it to the theme ‘Ignite,’ as he urged marketers to prioritise authenticity and problem-solving in their campaigns.

“True personal brands lead and solve problems, creating campaigns that go beyond mere sales. Marketers play a vital role in fueling the economy,” Otudo remarked.

The head of the Awards Decision Council, Uquo Ukoh commended the quality of entries received this year, noting improvements despite a decline in overall submissions.

“Our assessments were based on criteria such as definition, identification, application, and performance of solutions,” Ukoh explained, highlighting the industry’s adaptation to meet the needs of Generation Z and Generation Alpha as a key driver of innovation.

The convener of the awards, Tony Agenmonmen, celebrated the event’s growth, describing it as a beacon of transparency and excellence.

“Our journey has not been without challenges, yet we remain unwavering in our commitment to transparency and excellence,” Agenmonmen asserted. “These principles will build the Nigerian Marketing Awards into the largest, most credible recognition platform for marketers in Nigeria.”

He thanked the Awards Decision Council for their dedication and encouraged marketing professionals to continue elevating standards and pushing boundaries in the industry.
