The governorship candidate of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) in Bauchi State, Sheikh Naziru Sheikh Dahiru Usman Bauchi, has pledged to prioritise education, healthcare, security and economic development if elected in the 2027 general elections.
Naziru gave the assurance shortly after he was affirmed as the party’s governorship candidate during a special delegates congress held in Bauchi on Wednesday.
The congress, supervised by officials of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), had delegates from the 20 local government areas of the state in attendance.
Addressing party members after the exercise, the candidate said his ambition was driven by the desire to provide responsible leadership and restore public confidence in governance.
“This movement is not about politics alone; it is about rebuilding hope, restoring trust in government and creating a future where every citizen matters regardless of tribe, religion or social class,” he stated.
Naziru promised to build a peaceful, prosperous and economically independent Bauchi State where citizens would have access to quality education, healthcare, infrastructure and opportunities for success.
He further pledged to empower youths and women through sustainable programmes aimed at job creation and poverty reduction.
The APGA candidate also assured the people of fairness, justice and transparency in governance if elected governor.
State chairman of the party, Alhaji Ibrahim Dantalle, described Naziru as a capable and experienced leader, saying other aspirants voluntarily stepped down for him in the interest of the party.
