Oyo Rep Distributes Rams, Bags Of Rice, Cash To Constituents

Ahead of the Eid-el-Kabir celebration, the member representing Ibadan North-West/Ibadan South-West federal constituency of Oyo State in the House of Representatives, Hon. Adedeji Olajide, has commenced distribution of Ileya rams, bags of rice and cash support to constituents, party faithful and vulnerable residents across the nine Local Government Areas of Oyo South Senatorial District.

The distribution exercise, which attracted community leaders, political stakeholders, religious groups, market men and women, youths and party supporters, was described by beneficiaries as timely and impactful, particularly in view of the prevailing economic realities confronting many households.

According to a statement made available to journalists through his Special Adviser, Media and Public Affairs, Tolu Mustapha, the initiative formed part of efforts aimed at supporting muslim faithful and easing the burden of the festive season for residents across the senatorial district.

The federal lawmaker noted that the season of Eid-el-Kabir symbolises sacrifice, love, compassion and support for one another, stressing that leaders must continue to identify with the people, especially during periods of economic difficulty.

The Allied Peoples’ Movement (APM), a federal lawmaker, explained that the distribution exercise was carefully structured to accommodate different categories of beneficiaries, including widows, elderly persons, religious bodies, community support groups, artisans, market associations, youths and party loyalists across the district.

Olajide further stated that beyond politics, leadership must continuously reflect empathy, responsiveness and practical commitment towards the welfare of the people.

“As we celebrate this sacred season of sacrifice and gratitude, it is important for us to continue to support one another and extend love to the less privileged within our communities. Leadership must remain about the people and their well-being,” he stated.

He called on Nigerians to continue to pray for peace, stability and economic recovery in the country, while expressing optimism that the nation would overcome its present socio-economic challenges through collective efforts and responsible leadership.

Beneficiaries and stakeholders who spoke during the distribution exercise commended the federal lawmaker for what they described as sustained grassroots engagement and consistent support for the people beyond election periods.
