The National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) has strongly warned State Pilgrims Welfare Boards (SPWBs) to stop dragging issues with Pilgrims on accommodations in Arafat and Minna.
In a statement issued by the Deputy Director Fatima Sanda Usara, the Board said that the attention of the NAHCON has been drawn to the development, urging state pilgrims welfare boards, SPWBs, to stop dragging issues to the media for resolution.
The Deputy Director notes that the commission is reacting to a report attributed to a State Pilgrims’ Welfare Board concerning the standard of accommodation arrangements in Mina and Arafat for Nigerian pilgrims ahead of the 2026 Hajj exercise.
NAHCON said it acknowledges that concerns may arise in the course of preparations for an operation as large and complex as Hajj.
NAHCON, therefore, urges all stakeholders, including State Pilgrims ’Welfare Boards, to address through established operational channels to identify gaps, improve arrangements where necessary, and ensure the comfort of participating states.
The Commission further encourages states to work closely with service providers on-site in resolving issues in a timely and beneficial manner.
