Former Senate President, Bukola Saraki, has commended Omar Bolaji Gambari for stepping down from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship race in Kwara State in the interest of the party’s unity.
Saraki in a press statement praised Gambari’s maturity, discipline, and statesmanship from the moment he obtained his nomination form to his eventual decision to sign the party’s consensus agreement ahead of the governorship primary election.
According to Saraki, Gambari demonstrated uncommon political understanding and commitment to the larger interests of the PDP and Kwara State despite being a first-time aspirant.
