Members Pay Emotional Tribute To Ex-President, Salau

Members of Zumunta USA INC., a not-for-profit organization consisting of Nigerians from the 19 Northern states and the Federal Capital Territory ( (FCT) have reacted to the passing of one of its past Presidents, Dr Ibrahim Salau, who died last Sunday in Abuja.

The Acting President of the Association, Mrs Rhoda Reuben Embu, in a press statement issued on Saturday, mourned the death of Dr Salihu, saying “Our members received the news with great shock.”

According to her, Dr Salau, who presided over the affairs of the Zumunta USA INC. between 2015 and 2019, had an enthusiastic approach to running the affairs of the association.

“His desire to see a successful Zumunta USA INC. saw him consult far and wide, especially among the association’s board of trustees and his national executive council, before embarking on a course of action.

“Salau was amiable, making friends from all corners of the country.

“He was passionate about the welfare of his friends, especially Zumunta members; sparing no effort at ensuring that no one was left emotionally and socially uncomfortable.

“Dr. Ibrahim Salau will be remembered for encouraging ties between Zumunta USA INC. and other Nigerian organizations with aims similar to those of our great association, she said.

Speaking further, she noted that the late elder statesman, who was a Professor of avionics at the University of Abuja, was concerned about insecurity in the 19 Northern states, and openly canvassed for a common approach by governors of the states to resolve the menace of terrorists and kidnappers in northern Nigeria.

He also publicly campaigned for the release of the secondary school girls captured by Boko Haram terrorists from Chibok in Borno State.”

Embu expressed the organization’s condolence to the family and friends and pray for the repose of his soul.

“May he rest peacefully in the bosom of Allah, and may God also grant comfort to all of us who mourn his passing, and the fortitude to cope with this unbearable loss,” Mrs. Embu said.
