The All Progressives Congress (APC) stakeholders in Eti Osa Local Government Area of Lagos State have assured President Bola Tinubu and the majority leader of the Lagos State House of Assembly, Noheem Adams, of victory in the 2027 general elections.
Speaking during a Victory Walk for Tinubu and Adams, the lawmaker promised to deliver the council to the APC.
He noted that the massive victory he recorded during the party’s primary election would be replicated in 2027 for the ruling party.
Adams said, “I want to thank all of you very much for the love and passion you have for me and APC. Today is what we call Victory Walk. We started from VGC with over 4000 APC members. Even in the rain, you stood your ground, and you are here to protect your mandate.
“I want to thank you very much for voting for me, and I have won the primary election throughout our wards, and the INEC officials, DSS and police personnel were there, and even the agents of our opponent were there as well.
“Let me put it on record that his agents and the police signed that the election was free and fair, and they took all the results to the local government collation centre.
“When they got there, they presented all the results to the DSS, INEC officials and also to the returning officer, and he collected everything. And he recorded it that Noheem Adams is the winner of this election.
“We have assured the President that we are going to vote for him and he will win. My name has been submitted to the proxy secretariat by the returning officer.
“I’m saying it recorit’s recorded. EC officials have sent my name to the state, and they have sent my name to Abuja. The DSS has written their report, and it is already in Abuja.
“So, I’m telling everybody to remain calm and peaceful because they will not take our mandate. All the things I’m saying here, I have explained to the leadership of the party, and the party is supreme, and our party is a party of integrity. And I believe in the party structure, and I will always remain in our party.”
The majority Leader accused a top monarch in the constituency of trying to sabotage the outcome of the Wednesday, May 20, primary election. He noted that his only crime was supporting Speaker Mudashiru Obasa during the impeachment saga.
“We believe in this party. The only crime I have committed was during the impeachment of the Speaker, and I did not follow them, nor did I do anything against the Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly.
“In our school of thought, they taught us loyalty and how to always be loyal and because I did not support them against the Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly. That is the only crime I committed, and today I’m calling on the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria to caution this monarch (name withheld).
“The monarch is the reason why we lost the presidential election in 2023 in the constituency, and he is the reason why we lost the House of Representatives seat. He lost in his own kingdom, and the results are there at the INEC for all to see.
“I’m calling on the Inspector General of Police that if anything happens to me, he should hold the monarch responsible. And in 2027, if we lose the presidential election in the local government, the President should hold the monarch responsible,” he said.
On his part, the President of Leki Residents and Stakeholders Association, Sulyman Bello, said Noheem Adams is the preferred choice of the people, and they will continue to work to deliver him and the President.
He said: “On behalf of all the estates from 1004 and across Lekki Phase 2, Honourable Noeem Adams is our preferred candidate in Eti-Osa. In the primary election, he got over 7000 votes, and his opponent got about 1000 votes.
“So, the winning margin is above 80 per cent. We are happy, and we thank President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the Chairman of APC in Lagos State and all the leaders of the party.”
