Kaduna State Governor, Uba Sani, has approved nearly ₦1 billion for the payment of outstanding entitlements owed to judiciary workers in the state.
Governor Sani made this disclosure on Thursday, May 21, while receiving executives of the Judiciary Staff Union of Nigeria (JUSUN), Kaduna State chapter, during a courtesy visit at Sir Kashim Ibrahim House.
Speaking during the visit, the Governor said the approval forms part of his administration’s efforts to promote fairness, accountability, and improved welfare for workers despite prevailing economic challenges.
Governor Sani explained that the approved funds would cover salary arrears for April and May 2021 inherited from the previous administration.

In response, the JUSUN delegation, led by its Chairman, Auwalu Sarki, commended the State government for the recent interventions targeted at resolving pending financial obligations owed to judiciary employees.
The governor added that the package also includes leave grants for 2023, 2024, and 2025, alongside long-awaited robe and outfit allowances for judiciary staff.
The governor praised judiciary workers for their contribution to the administration of justice and their role in strengthening public confidence in the legal system.
He reiterated his administration’s resolve to prioritise workers’ welfare, improve judicial infrastructure, and deepen collaboration between the executive and judicial arms of government to enhance justice delivery across Kaduna State.
