The lead Pastor of The Zoe Household Global, Pastor Dolapo Lawal, has opined that Nigeria makes wealth creation easier than countries like the United Kingdom (UK).
Pastor Lawal, who spoke in a viral video during a recent sermon, argued that most citizens relocating abroad are motivated by survival rather than the pursuit of significant wealth.
According to the cleric, many Nigerian migrants in the UK work in caregiving and other labour-intensive roles primarily to meet daily needs.
He criticised the growing trend of selling off properties and assets in Nigeria to finance relocation, describing it as a form of modern slavery.

“How many people do you know who are in the UK who are billionaires. They go there to survive. They don’t go there to be rich. All of them are going there to do care jobs. They’re going there to survive.”
“Your ambition is to go and join them. It’s modern slavery. I know people who sold their properties to go and rent properties abroad. Are you thinking? What are you doing? Instead of you seeing how you can get something from God. That thing called light.”
He advised young Nigerians to focus on identifying and developing opportunities at home instead of assuming that financial success only exists overseas.
According to him, most of the wealthy individuals he has encountered built their fortunes in Nigeria.
“You start pointing that thing at your lips and allowing God to start connecting you to meet people and going to the right places. Life has a way of bending to people who have something if you keep at it.”
He described the country as one of the easiest places to become a billionaire for people with vision, persistence, and access to the right networks.
“A lot of people there are not sending money because they’re selfish!sh. They don’t have it. All the billionaires I’ve met in my life are here. This is the easiest place to be a billionaire. Be wise…” he said.
Lawal encouraged Nigerians to invest in personal growth and local connections, stating that long-term wealth is more attainable within the country than abroad.
