Sokoto Communities Endorse Danmaje, Contribute N10m For 2nd Term Bid

Communities in the Shagari/Yabo Federal Constituency in Sokoto State have endorsed, Hon. Umar Yusuf Yabo, a House of Representatives representing the constituency, and also contributed N10 million toward his second-term bid ahead of the 2027 general elections.

The communities also raised additional funds and forwarded them to the member for the purchase of his nomination form.

Receiving the N10 million presented by Alhaji Danmaliki on behalf of the communities at a ceremony held at Yabo Model School on Saturday, Hon. Yabo pledged to seek re-election to ensure the continuity of projects and programmes.

He expressed appreciation for their efforts and concern, noting that it would go a long way toward ensuring that the people benefit from the dividends of democracy.

Former Ambassador to Jordan, Ambassador Faruk Malami Yabo, appealed to the people of Shagari/Yabo Federal Constituency to support the member’s second-term bid to enable him to provide more meaningful development to the area.

Faruk, a former Deputy Governor of the state, also commended former Sokoto Governor Aminu Waziri Tambuwal for allowing Danmajen and Gorau to serve as members representing Goronyo/Gada and Shagari/Yabo federal constituencies.

He noted that both members have become exemplary leaders worthy of emulation in their respective areas.

Ambassador Yabo expressed optimism that, by all indications, the duo had not failed former Governor Tambuwal.

According to him, reports reaching him show that the two House of Representatives members representing Goronyo/Gada and Shagari/Yabo have performed excellently.

He stated that the people of Yabo/Shagari have attested that Danmajen Yabo has initiated many projects and programmes for the benefit of the constituency.

Chairman of ADC Yabo Local Government Area, Alhaji Bala Musa Yabo, expressed appreciation to the Yabo community for turning out in large numbers to attend the event.

He noted that the member had initiated meaningful projects that directly impact the people.

Umar Bawan Allah, Youth Organising Secretary, who represented the State ADC Chairman, highlighted the members’ contributions to the area. He said the community had passed a vote of confidence and contributed funds to support the member’s return to the Assembly in 2027.

Bello Isoyaka Kigan, ADC Chairman, urged the people not to relent in their efforts to ensure the member’s return for a second term.

Chairman of the ADC Elders Committee, Alhaji Garba Bello Yabo, said the turnout showed that the ADC had been fully accepted in the area.

He recalled that the APC administration had removed fuel subsidy shortly after assuming office, which contributed to the rise in the cost of essential commodities and was now biting harder.

Shagari ADC Elders Committee member, Hon. Aliyu Dandin Mahe, urged youth, as the vanguard of development, to rededicate themselves to salvaging the country from total collapse.
