Uzodimma Accepts Call To Contest Imo West Senate Seat


Imo State Governor, Hope Uzodimma has formally declared his intention to contest the Imo West Senatorial seat.

In a statement on Sunday, the governor noted that he accepted the call to serve with humility and a strong commitment to the advancement of his constituents.

Uzodimma revealed that he has presented himself before the leadership of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and its National Assembly Primary Election Screening Committee as part of the nomination process.

He emphasised that the senatorial seat belongs first to the party, noting that he remains a loyal candidate dedicated to promoting the ideals, vision, and aspirations of the APC.

He commended the party’s commitment to people-oriented governance and the delivery of democratic dividends across Nigeria.

Uzodimma stated that his aspiration to represent Imo West in the Senate, often referred to as the Red Chamber is driven by the need to build on the achievements of the #RenewedHope agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

He pledged to provide quality representation, sponsor impactful legislation, and drive sustainable development initiatives that would benefit the people of Imo West Senatorial District and Nigeria at large.
