Fani-Kayode, Omokri Declare Support For Tinubu

Ambassadors-designate Femi Fani-Kayode (South-Africa) and Reno Omokri (Mexico) have declared President Bola Tinubu as their preferred candidate for the 2027 presidential election.

They cited the need to uphold Nigeria’s longstanding power rotation arrangement between the North and the South as reasons for their support.

In a joint statement, the duo said it would be in the best interest of Nigeria’s unity, stability, and prosperity for the presidency to remain in the South for a full two-term cycle, following the completion of two terms by former President Muhammadu Buhari from the North.

They noted that allowing power to shift back to the North after just one term in the South would undermine the informal zoning principle that has guided Nigeria’s democratic stability since 1999.

Fani-Kayode and Omokri described President Tinubu’s administration as one that has recorded measurable economic progress, including sustained GDP growth and trade surpluses, while positioning Nigeria for long-term development.

The statement also highlighted ongoing infrastructure projects under the administration, including major highway developments and regional connectivity initiatives aimed at boosting economic integration across the country.

They further called on Nigerians across political, ethnic, and religious lines to support Tinubu’s re-election bid in 2027, aligning with the administration’s Renewed Hope Agenda and its vision of transforming Nigeria into a $1 trillion economy in the coming years.
