President Bola Tinubu’s spokesperson, Bayo Onanuga has criticised the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), claiming the party lacks a clear policy direction and actionable plan for Nigeria ahead of the 2027 general elections.
In a statement shared on social media, Onanuga said his attempt to review the party’s manifesto online yielded no result.
He noted that the NDC website returned a “No document found” response when he tried to access its policy framework.
Also, he questioned the preparedness of the party, which recently welcomed high-profile defectors including former presidential candidates, Peter Obi and Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, following their exit from the African Democratic Congress (ADC).

Onanuga noted that beyond a set of outlined “policy nuggets,” the party is yet to articulate a comprehensive manifesto or ideological blueprint capable of offering a credible alternative to the ruling government.
He also referenced remarks by Senator Seriake Dickson, a leading figure in the party, who had earlier suggested the NDC would pursue an ideological contest in the 2027 elections.
According to Onanuga, the absence of a detailed manifesto raises questions about the party’s readiness to challenge the ruling All Progressives Congress and its policy direction under President Bola Tinubu.
