Premier League winger Bukayo Saka has spoken about his decisive strike that propelled Arsenal into their first UEFA Champions League final in 20 years.
New Telegraph had earlier reported that the winger delivered the match-winning moment in a tight 1–0 victory over Atletico Madrid, sealing a 2–1 aggregate success in a high-pressure semi-final clash.
The England international capitalised on a rare mistake from goalkeeper Jan Oblak, sparking wild celebrations at the Emirates Stadium.
Following the win, Arsenal also etched their name into the record books by remaining unbeaten throughout the competition, recording 11 wins and three draws on their way to the final.
Saka Reflects On Arsenal’s Historic UCL Triumph
Bukayo Saka was in high spirits after helping Arsenal reach the UEFA Champions League final, jokingly expressing frustration at being pulled away from the on-pitch celebrations for media duties.

“You’re taking me away from the celebrations, man! It’s so beautiful,” he said, adding, “You see what it means to us and what it means to the fans. We’re all so happy.”
Reflecting on the intensity of the semi-final clash, Saka acknowledged the pressure both sides were under but praised Arsenal’s composure in getting the job done.
“This game is a high-pressure game, and it means a lot to both sides,” he said. “We managed to manage well and take ourselves to the final, so we’re happy.”
He also spoke about his decisive strike, his 81st goal for the club and one of the most significant of his career. “It’s definitely up there,” Saka said, reflecting on the moment.
“In those situations, I just try to stay alive, and sometimes it bounces for you, sometimes it doesn’t, but you have to be there. I was there, and it fell for me. I got my goal, so glory to God, and we’ll go to the final now.”
Arsenal will now prepare to face either Bayern Munich or Paris Saint-Germain in Budapest as they aim to finally lift the Champions League trophy, having narrowly missed out in 2006.
