The National Legal Officer of the main opposition African Democratic Congress (ADC), Professor Oserheimen Osunbor has blamed the crisis within the party on the overbearing influence of the executive arm of government on the judiciary.
Speaking on the flagship television programme, Politics Today on Channels Television yesterday, Professor Osunbor who spoke extensively on the protracted legal entanglements the party has faced in recent times however stated that the trend has become so worrisome.
Lamenting the sorry state of democratic rule in the country, he stated that “Unless democratic institutions are allowed to function as they should, adding, “Unless laws and regulations and due process are followed.
We will continue to sink deeper and deeper into the morass of hunger development.”
He described the crisis in the party as orchestrated, Professor Osunbor said, “ In terms of the provisions of the law, the state of the law, I am not frightened. What bothers Nigeria is executive interference in judiciary. That bothers me. It bothers me.”
