Former Lagos governorship aspirant, Abdul-Azeez Olajide Adediran, popularly known as Jandor, has officially withdrawn from the 2027 Lagos State governorship race under the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Jandor announced his decision in a statement dated Thursday, April 30, 2026, citing party unity and alignment with the directive of the President, Bola Tinubu as key reasons for his decision.

“Leadership demands the capacity to make difficult but necessary decisions that prioritize collective interest above personal ambition,” he said.
Jandor emphasized that his withdrawal was not due to lack of capacity but a demonstration of discipline, loyalty, and commitment to party cohesion.
He reaffirmed his allegiance to the APC and expressed unwavering support for President Tinubu, describing his leadership as central to the stability and progress of both the party and the nation.
“I hereby fully align myself with the position and direction of Mr. President regarding the Lagos State gubernatorial process,” he said.
Addressing members of the Lagos4Lagos Movement, Jandor appreciated their support and urged them to remain committed to the broader goal of equity, inclusion, and development within Lagos State.
He called on party members and supporters to remain calm and united, stressing the need to consolidate gains rather than deepen divisions.
“This is a moment to consolidate, not to divide; to build, not to fracture,” he added.
