Nollywood actor Uzor Arukwe, has opened up on his father’s unwillingness to support his acting career even till now.

The actor made this revelation while speaking about his family’s response to his choice to work in the film industry.

Speaking in an interview with media personality Chude Jideonwo on the WithChude podcast, Arukwe claimed that although his father has heard about his successes in Nollywood, he has refused to accept or trust them.

According to Arukwe, his mother was first reluctant to support his career choice due to her husband’s status, but she eventually warmed up to it and embraced it.

“My father doesn’t know that I’m an actor; he has heard, but he doesn’t want to believe.

“My mum was slow to adapt because of her husband, but she later came around,” he said.
