2027: Why We Support Senator Barau Continuity

The leadership of the Voice of Kano North, a Non-Governmental Organisation, has expressed their unalloyed support for the continuity of the Deputy President of the Senate, Senator Barau Jibrin for undertaking billions of Naira infrastructural and human development projects in the state.

Speaking on Tuesday in Kano, the Chairman of the group, Habib Jibrin Yanchibi, said, “The dream of any society in the world is to have a legacy-oriented leader who can wholeheartedly place the interests of that particular society above his own personal interests.

“Thus, the good people of Kano North Senatorial District should be congratulated with Barau Jibrin.

“We stand firmly behind Senator Barau I. Jibrin; supporting the continuation of his exceptional representation and legislative efforts.”

According to him, since the return of democracy from 1999 to date, no one has brought development to Kano North to the extent that Jibrin has under his leadership, human capital development is actualised.

He has undoubtedly improved the education sector by maximising the number of schools, including colleges and universities.

“He established Open Universities and Federal University Dutsen-Ma centres in all the 13 local government areas of Kano North. He also facilitated the establishment of Federal University of Science and Technology Kabo, Police College, Immigration Institute in Bichi, Civil Defence Institute Gwarzo and many others.”

Additionally, the Chairman added that Senator Barau Jibrin should ensure the construction of the Kano-Gwarzo-Dayi road is continued and over 30 billion is being allocated to the project.

“Furthermore, considering the number of Projects he has executed in Gwarzo Local Government Area,, one must doff their hat to him and view any contender against Barau as unserious.”

He added, “The person that’s attempting to contest against him, Abdullahi Tijjani Gwarzo was once a Gwarzo LG Four-term Chairman, former Deputy Governor, and former Minister yet he didn’t bring anything to his local government, let alone the zone.”

“But, Barau has delivered wide-ranging development projects in Gwarzo LGA, including education (open universities, classrooms, scholarships), healthcare (hospital construction and upgrades), infrastructure (roads, bridge, water projects, solar lights), economic support (fertilizers, livestock, cash/food aid), and community development projects (mosques, palaces, training institutes, and employment opportunities).

“His contributions have significantly improved living standards and infrastructure across the area, consequently, while reaffirming our commitment, support and unwavering loyalty, we unequivocally state that Kano North can not afford, under any circumstances, to lose Senator Barau I. Jibrin.
