Justice M.G. Umar of an Abuja Federal High Court yesterday dismissed the application filed by former Minister of State for Labour Nkeiruka Onyejeocha seeking to be joined in an ongoing suit between Amobi Ogah and the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
Ogah had instituted the suit seeking an order of mandamus compelling INEC to conclude investigations and prosecute Onyejeocha over allegations bordering on forgery of election results connected to the 2023 National Assembly election for the Isuikwuato/ Umunneochi Federal Constituency in Abia State.
In her application, Onyejeocha sought the court’s permission to be joined in the proceedings, arguing that the matter touches directly on her electoral contest and related allegations.
The INEC had also denied in the course of the proceedings that the results she presented in the tribunal did not emanate from their office, thereby confirming the authenticity of the result presented by Ogah at the hearing.
