APC Women Endorses Lagos Assembly Spokesman For Another Term

The All Progressives Congress (APC) women across key political and grassroots groups in Oshodi-Isolo Local Government Area (LGA) have declared their support for the re-election of the Lagos State House of Assembly Spokesperson, Hon. Stephen Ogundipe.

The endorsement took place at the Renewed Hope Ambassadors’ office located on Alimi Oke Street, Oshodi, Lagos.

Members drawn from the Renewed Hope Ambassadors, the Mandate Movement, the Justice Forum, and the Market Women converged in large numbers, reportedly exceeding a thousand participants.

Leading the delegation was the Vice Chairman of Oshodi-Isolo Local Government, Hon. Modupe Badmus-Aregbe, who attended as the Special Guest of Honour.

In her opening remarks, Badmus-Aregbe welcomed attendees and emphasised the importance of unity and preparedness ahead of upcoming political engagements.

“This gathering is not just symbolic; it is a call to action. The challenges ahead require commitment and loyalty to our party. I urge every one of you to ensure your Permanent Voter Cards are ready.

“Asiwaju must return, and our own Hon. Ogundipe must also secure a second term. He remains the pride of Oshodi and has earned the trust of the people through his performance,” she stated.

Speaking on behalf of the women, the group leader, Mrs Faidat Bolarinwa, assured party leaders of their unwavering support and readiness to mobilise at all levels.

“We are battle-ready. The women of Oshodi-Isolo are fully prepared for the task ahead. Hon. Ogundipe, Omoj’omolo, has consistently demonstrated compassion and leadership through his humanitarian efforts.

“As we prepare to support our national leader, we are equally determined to return one of our own, someone who stands independently and represents the true interests of the people,” she said.

Also lending her voice, former Councillor, Hon. Bukola Dasola Lawal highlighted the lawmaker’s longstanding political involvement and track record.

“Hon. Ogundipe is not new to our political terrain. His antecedents speak volumes. He has delivered on his mandate and shown capacity. A second term is not only justified but necessary for continuity and consolidation,” she remarked.

In a more emphatic and reflective address, the patron of the Women in APC Forum in Oshodi-Isolo, Alhaji Musiliu Ayinde Akinsanya (MC Oluomo), spoke on the political evolution within the local government and reaffirmed his support for Hon. Ogundipe.

“I have witnessed the political journey of this local government, and I can say clearly that we will not allow imposition or manipulation.

“Hon. Ogundipe has shown respect, loyalty, and commitment to the progressive ideals. We will not accept a stooge in Oshodi politics. The mandate given to him must be renewed,” he declared.

He concluded by formally presenting Hon. Ogundipe to the women for their endorsement, drawing loud cheers and affirmations from the crowd.

Responding to the endorsement, Hon. Ogundipe expressed gratitude and reassured constituents of his continued dedication to service.

“I am deeply humbled by this show of love and support. For those who claim they have not seen our impact, tell them to get glasses or borrow a pair, so they can see clearly.

“Our work speaks across education, healthcare, welfare, employment, road infrastructure, and food support. We are not driven by noise but by results,” he said.

Ogundipe further emphasised his educational background and independence in leadership:

According to him, my academic journey is verifiable, as I have attended the University of Ibadan and the University of Lagos, and I am currently completing my PhD at Lagos State University.

He said: “I refuse to be a puppet, and I will not be drawn into unnecessary personality conflicts. My focus remains service to the people.”

The event also had in attendance several notable figures including Hon. Nike Adegbola, Hon. Femi Ayodele, Alhaji Kehinde Olorunoje, and Comrade Samson Agbetoye, who all showed solidarity with the women’s forum and the endorsed candidate.

The gathering concluded with a renewed commitment from participants to mobilise support and ensure electoral success for our dear president, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu GCFR and Hon. Ogundipe in the forthcoming political cycle.
