Former presidential candidate and chieftain of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Peter Obi, on Thursday, held a private meeting with Bauchi State Governor, Bala Mohammed at government house, fueling ongoing speculation about political realignments ahead of the 2027 elections.

Obi, who arrived in Bauchi earlier in the day, proceeded to the Government House, where both leaders met behind closed doors at the Presidential Lounge.

As of the time of filing this report, the agenda had not been disclosed, although both figures were expected to brief journalists afterward.

The visit comes at a time of heightened political activity surrounding Mohammed, who has recently indicated interest in leaving the People’s Democratic Party (PDP).
