Olopade, Gusau, Ikpeba Lead Football Top Guns To Lagos

The Nigeria National League (NNL) is rolling out the red carpet in Lagos, and Nigeria’s football royalty is answering the call.

NSC Director General, Hon. Bukola Olopade, and NFF President, Alhaji Ibrahim Gusau, will lead the crème de la crème of Nigerian sports administration to the NNL Super Four Draws.

The power duo will be flanked by an all-star cast of ex-Super Eagles legends, with the ‘Prince of Monaco’ Victor Ikpeba, and other big guns from across the industry expected to grace the event.

For many, their presence sends a clear message: the NNL is no longer a feeder league operating in the shadows. With deliberate branding, improved organisation, and growing commercial appeal, the second tier is staking its claim as the most important league in Nigeria.

Much of that transformation is down to Toptier Sports Management. The private investors have injected fresh energy and funding into the league, repositioning its status, raising operational standards, and giving clubs a platform that feels top-flight in everything but name.

The draw itself will set the path to glory for the four newly promoted NPFL sides: Doma United, Sporting Lagos, Inter Lagos, and Ranchers Bees.

For the first time in history, all four promoted clubs are privately owned — a landmark moment that reflects where Nigerian club football is headed.

The event is slated for April 24, 2026, inside the elegant Marriott Hotel, Ikeja GRA, Lagos. From there, attention shifts to the pitch when the NNL Super Four Tournament kicks off from May 1 to May 8, 2026, to crown the overall champion of the 2025/2026 NNL season.

Beyond the fixtures, the night will be about optics, ambition, and momentum. When Gusau picks a ball, when Ikpeba laughs with others, when Olopade speaks on the future, the cameras will capture more than a draw.

They’ll capture a league that believes it belongs on the big stage, and on April 24, Lagos becomes that stage.
