A Coalition of Ebonyi Youths across the 13 Local Government Areas and 171 electoral wards in the state, on Wednesday, donated N40 million to purchase the All Progressive Congress (APC) gubernatorial form for Governor Francis Nwifuru’s re-election.

Presenting the cheque to the State Chairman of APC, Chief Stanley Emegha, at the party secretariat, Abakaliki. The National President of Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru (FON) Movement Hon Chinedu Emenike, said that the gesture was to show appreciation for the State Chief Executive’s leadership credentials.

“Governor Nwifuru has shown us love, we are here to make this donation for the purchase of nomination forms for his re- election”

Emenike emphasised that Governor Nwifuru remains a builder of youths, stating that youths are now leaders of today and not tomorrow.

“We are here to tell the party of the good things Nwifuru has done; we have peace in all the 171 wards across the state”

Responding, the State Chairman of the All Progressive Congress (APC) Chief Stanley Emegha, commended the youths for the show of solidarity to the state Chief Executive.

“The money that you donated will go to the party National Secretariat, I assure you that Governor Nwifuru has in-depth knowledge of the state”

The state party chairman advised the youths to stand firm and be calm assuring that the youths must have their rightful place in the scheme of things.

He disclosed that another youth group known as Izzi Nnodo Youth Forum, had earlier donated funds for the purchase of nomination forms for Governor Nwifuru’s re-election.

Emegha further stated that several opposition political parties in the state, have approached him seeking permission to endorse Governor Nwifuru for a second term ahead of the 2027 gubernatorial election.

According to him, “the request came from chairmen of opposition parties who expressed interest in backing the incumbent governor’s re-election bid”

Emegha however advised opposition leaders to strictly adhere to their party constitution and guidelines noting that any endorsement must be in line with legal provisions.

In attendance at the event were coordinators of Support Groups, chairmen of local government areas, party stalwarts, development centre coordinators and various youth organisations, among others.
