A tragic attack occurred in the forest of Tumbulla Village, located in Tursa ward of Rabah Local Government Area, Sokoto State, where bandits opened fire on civilians, killing four people and injuring several others.
The incident happened at May-ini Earth Dam, where the victims were using water, on Thursday. According to local vigilante leaders, the bandits attacked the people, leading to the fatalities and injuries.
Funeral prayers were held for the deceased in accordance with Islamic rites. Rabah LGA is among the areas experiencing frequent bandit attacks and other criminal activities in the eastern senatorial district of Sokoto State.
Recently, a prominent businessman, Malam Ibrahim Memory, was killed by bandits along the Mafara-Gandhi Road in Sokoto State. The community is urging the government to take concrete efforts to address banditry in the area.
