We’ll Deepen Internal Democracy In APC

As NWC Members Receive Certificates of Return

The National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Nentawe Yilwatda, on Thursday pledged that the party would continue to deepen internal democracy across its structures nationwide.

Yilwatda made this pledge as members of the newly elected National Working Committee (NWC) received their certificates of return from the Convention Planning Committee.

He said the ruling party would sustain inclusive and transparent processes that would attract more Nigerians, regardless of criticisms from opposition parties.

He assured party faithful that the NWC would prioritise strengthening the party and ensuring electoral success in the 2027 general elections by effectively showcasing the achievements of the party.

“We will continue to expand the party—keep reaching out, engaging, and mobilising—to grow membership across the country.

“We must ensure that our party remains strong and focused. We must present clear policies, credible candidates, and a clear direction for Nigeria.

“Our responsibility is to strengthen democracy and build confidence in the political process. We will work to ensure that our party remains the platform of choice for Nigerians and promote credible elections and stronger democratic institutions.

“Our duty is to deliver results at all levels governors, senators, members of the House of Representatives, and Houses of Assembly.

“We will deploy all our energy and resources to ensure success for our candidates,” he said.

The APC Chairman also commended the Convention Planning Committee for organising what he described as a peaceful, transparent, and well-coordinated exercise.

“This convention will go down in history as one without litigation. It was almost like a carnival rather than a convention.

“The internal wrangling that used to characterise such events was completely absent. We appreciate the committee for raising the bar,” he added.

In his remarks earlier, the Chairman of the National Convention Planning Committee, Aminu Masari, congratulated the NWC members on their emergence and urged them to work diligently to strengthen the party at all levels.

Also speaking, the Secretary of the committee and Governor of Yobe State, Mai Mala Buni, assured the new NWC of the support of party faithful across the country.
