The Imo State Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Mrs Ruby Emele, has urged Imo residents to support Gov. Hope Uzodimma’s power sector reforms for the state’s economic advancement.

Emele made the call during an interactive session with newsmen in Owerri yesterday. She praised Uzodimma for doing a “wonderful job” in the area of power generation, saying that his efforts were offering the state an alternative to the national grid.

She said that given the spate of blackouts, it would be necessary for well-meaning Imo people to support the governor’s efforts so as to ensure steady power supply and guarantee sustainable economic growth of the state.

“Gov. Hope Uzodimma is doing such a wonderful job with electricity generation and he needs our support. “To the glory of God, we have started seeing the results as the work is moving stage by stage.”
