Ortom Rallies PDP Aspirants, Predicts Victory In 2027

The immediate past Governor of Benue State, Chief Samuel Ortom, has urged the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) aspirants in the 2027 general elections to walk with their shoulders high and consider themselves winners.

The former Governor gave this assurance when he hosted PDP aspirants in the state alongside other party stakeholders to brief them on the state of the party following the just-concluded National Convention.

According to him, the crises in the party had been completely nipped in the bud, noting that the electoral umpire, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), had already recognised and uploaded the results of the National Convention on its official portal.

He also used the opportunity to announce the emergence of Dr James Anbua as the PDP Zonal Chairman for the North Central Zone.

The PDP Board of Trustees (BoT) member said that for the purpose of the 2027 elections, he had chosen to sacrifice his personal ambitions by not contesting for any office, in order to properly guide and support those aspiring to win.

On the ongoing PDP e-registration and INEC voter revalidation exercises, Chief Ortom charged aspirants to return to their constituencies and mobilise party members to register massively.

In a remark earlier, the State Chairman of the party, Rt Hon. Ezekiel Adaji, enjoined all aspirants to remain united and to sensitise their communities on the need to vote out the APC government in Benue State in 2027, assuring them of a level playing field.

Ten PDP governorship aspirants were present at the meeting.
