As part of the ongoing National Police Day 2026 activities, the Sokoto State Police Command, led by Commissioner of Police CP Hayatu Hassan Shaffa psc, mnips, organized sensitization lectures at the Sokoto Central Motor Park.
The event was attended by AIG Zone 10, AIG Gyogon A. Grimah psc, FCAI, alongside stakeholders, members of the Police-Community Relations Committee (PCRC), youth groups, motor park leaders, drivers, and representatives from the Road Transport Owners’ Association, Okada Riders Association, and Tricycles Riders Association.
CSP Sidi G. Shinkafi, Officer-in-Charge of the State Motor Traffic Division, delivered a presentation on the Importance of Safe Driving Practices, while CSP Abdulaziz Isha Baura, Divisional Police Officer of Kwanni, spoke on the Dangers of Electoral Violence.
Addressing the audience, AIG Zone 10 Sokoto commended the public for their collaboration in tackling crime and urged the people of the Caliphate to avoid all forms of violence, particularly during election periods.
He also called on road users to observe traffic rules and safety regulations.
The event is part of the Nigeria Police Force’s efforts to promote community policing and build trust with the public. The theme for this year’s National Police Day is “Community Partnership: Building Trust”.
