On the second day of activities marking this year’s Police Day Celebration, the Anambra State Police Command undertook a walkerthon exercise for the fitness of officers and men of the Command.
Recall that on the first day, the Command carried out environmental sanitation activities as well as a free medical mission for officers and men, including members of the general public.
According to the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Tochukwu Ikenga, “As part of activities marking the 2026 National Police Day celebration, the Anambra State Police Command, today, 31st March 2026, the second day of the event, undertook a walkathon aimed at promoting physical fitness and strengthening police-community relations”
“The fitness walk, which commenced from the Command Headquarters, saw the participation of the Management team of the Command, other police officers alongside members of the public, demonstrating unity, cooperation, and a shared commitment to healthy living”
“The exercise further underscores the Command’s dedication to enhancing the well-being of its personnel while fostering closer ties with the community in line with the principles of community policing”
“The Command appreciates members of the public who joined the exercise and reiterates its commitment to ensuring the safety and security of all residents in the State” the statement read.
