The Cross River State Police Command has rescued a 35-year-old Malime Sunday Ejor from facing jungle justice in Ogoja, Northern Cross River State.
According to a press release issued by the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) ASP Sunday Etokpah, “Preliminary information revealed that on March 28, 2026, at about 0600hrs, one Malime Sunday Ejor, ‘M’, aged 35 years, allegedly attacked his girlfriend, Moshie Lucy Igu, ‘F’, aged 26 years, at a farm in Nwang Village, Ekajuk, Ogoja.”
The suspect reportedly took the victim to a nearby stream close to the farm, where he inflicted machete cuts on her, resulting in her death.
The reads in part: “Upon receipt of the report, police operatives promptly visited the scene. The suspect was apprehended and rescued from an attempted mob action by angry youths. He is currently in police custody for his safety and the ongoing investigation.
“The victim’s remains are yet to be deposited at the General Hospital Mortuary, Ogoja, as necessary arrangements are being concluded.
“Meanwhile, the case is being prepared for transfer to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) for discreet and thorough investigation.”
