Governor Alia’s Ally Dumps APC, Defects To PDP


A chieftain of the Ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) And a close ally of Governor Hyacinth Alia, Dr Simon Ater, yesterday defected from the APC to the peoples democratic party (PDP) To Run For The 2027 Governorship Seat.

Dr Ater, who met with the immediate past governor where high level talks were perfected bothering on his governorship ambition, disclosed that his decision was driven by what he described as the “glaring failure” of the current administration under Governor Hyacinth Alia, accusing it of falling short of the expectations and aspirations of the Benue people.

“My decision to leave the APC is both deliberate and necessary. “The current administration of Hyacinth Alia has not only fallen short of expectations, it has betrayed the trust of the people in many ways, particularly in securing the lives and property of the people. “Benue deserves purposeful leadership, not excuses”.
