In collaboration with the Sickle Cell Advocacy & Management Initiative, the Adekunle Gold Foundation has commenced a medical outreach program for individuals with sickle cell disease, offering medical care to more than 400 patients in Lagos.
The medical outreach, which commenced on March 14, included professional consultations, laboratory testing, blood transfusions for severe cases, pain management, physiotherapy support, and the delivery of necessary medications.
Also, those for a maximum of three months got care items and prescription drugs to support their treatment.

The foundation, established by musician Adekunle Gold, is focused on improving awareness and access to treatment for people living with the condition.
Speaking on the initiative, Adekunle Gold, who has lived with sickle cell disorder since childhood, said the intervention was aimed at easing the burden on patients.
“Living with sickle cell is something I understand personally. Beyond the pain, there is the cost of care, which many people cannot afford. We want to make treatment more accessible so people can live better,” he said.
