The Bauchi State Government has intensified efforts to strengthen its security architecture with the establishment of a Security Trust Fund designed to mobilise resources and enhance operational effectiveness.
The initiative, according to the Chairman of the Fund’s establishment committee and Chief Security Adviser, retired Deputy Inspector General of Police Sani Usman Muhammad, reflects a strategic approach to addressing evolving security challenges.
He emphasised that sustainable security requires collaboration between government and citizens, noting that insecurity continues to undermine economic growth and social stability.
The Trust Fund, he said, is expected to provide financial and logistical support to security agencies, while also serving as a platform for public awareness and engagement.
The government also called on private sector actors and well-meaning individuals to contribute to the fund, particularly in supporting victims of insecurity and strengthening community resilience.
Observers say the move aligns with broader efforts by sub-national governments to adopt structured, multi-stakeholder approaches to security management. Residents were encouraged to play their part by remaining vigilant and sharing credible intelligence with relevant authorities.
