A new digital petition platform, AfricaChange.org, has launched to enable Nigerians and other Africans to raise civic concerns, advocate for policy reforms, and mobilise public support for social and governance issues.
The platform, founded by Dr Remi Majekodunmi, allows citizens to create and sign petitions online while amplifying grassroots voices and promoting structured civic engagement.
According to a statement, AfricaChange.org provides a digital space where individuals can speak on issues ranging from governance and public accountability to education, healthcare, youth empowerment, and social justice.
The statement noted that the platform enables users to share petitions widely, gather verified support, and present organised demands to relevant authorities and institutions.
The Founder and Chief Executive Officer of AfricaChange.org, Dr Remi Majekodunmi, said the initiative seeks to bridge the gap between citizens and decision-makers by providing a credible platform for public advocacy.
“AfricaChange.org is built on the principle that every citizen deserves a voice. Our goal is to provide a credible and responsible digital platform where Nigerians can raise important issues, mobilise support, and engage leadership constructively. Sustainable development requires active citizen participation, and technology now allows us to facilitate that engagement more effectively than ever before,” Majekodunmi said.
The organisation added that the platform emphasises responsible usage, transparency, and community standards to ensure that petitions remain lawful, respectful, and solution-driven.
It stated that by harnessing digital tools, AfricaChange.org aims to strengthen civic awareness and encourage democratic participation among young people and communities across Nigeria.
The organisers disclosed that the platform has already attracted interest from individuals, community groups, and advocacy organisations seeking a centralised African platform dedicated to civic engagement.
They also invited Nigerians at home and in the diaspora to use the platform to raise awareness of key issues and contribute to building a more responsive and accountable society.
AfricaChange.org describes itself as an independent digital petition platform dedicated to empowering Africans to advocate for social, political, and community change through structured and lawful civic engagement. The organisation added that it seeks to amplify citizen voices, promote accountability, and encourage constructive dialogue between communities and decision-makers across the continent.
