TMR Global opens Mowe office to boost local economy

TMR Global Resources Nigeria Ltd has opened its Nigerian branch in Mowe, Ogun State, with a pledge to boost the local economy through affordable services and job creation across energy, real estate, legal services and car dealerships.

Speaking at the official opening on Wednesday in Ogun State, the Chief Executive Officer, Afolalu Ariyo, said the firm’s expansion into Nigeria marked a deliberate move to give back to his home and transfer knowledge gained abroad.

“Today, we are opening the Nigerian branch of TMR Global Resources. We are a company based in the US with a presence in Canada, the UK, the UAE, Spain, Brazil and Singapore,” Ariyo said.

He added, “By establishing a business in Nigeria, we are giving back home because we’ve already created some enabling environment over there, and we are trying to come back home to impart the development that we have created and what we’ve learnt over there to our people.” That’s why we’ve come back home to establish the Nigerian branch at Mowe, Ogun State.”

Ariyo said the company would operate three core departments, including real estate, oil and gas, and legal services, alongside a car dealership arm.

“In this company, we have three different departments that mutually support each other. First, we have a real estate department, where we help people who are not financially buoyant or who are financially deficient to complete their project, irrespective of any project they had, and if they don’t have finance to complete it, we can do it for them, so that will make their life very easy for them. And we also help people to acquire property,” he said.

He stated that the company would also target Nigerians in the diaspora seeking trusted partners to execute property projects at home.

“Those who are living abroad are looking for one company to partner with and a reputable company to partner with to build their property back home here. They can also get back to us to make sure that we give them the best quality of property. So that’s why, over there, people are willing to do something back home, but they are looking for a trusted company and trusted allies,” Ariyo said.

He added, “But now, we are here now; they can trust in us, TMR Global Resources Nigeria Ltd. We are here to help them achieve their aim.”

On energy, Ariyo said the firm had established a gas department to ease supply challenges and reduce prices for consumers in the community.

“In terms of oil and gas, now we are having a gas department here where we are giving back to the consumers at a lower price. In this area now, people are struggling to get gas and don’t want the gas to be at a very high cost. We are establishing this kind of gas station here to make life easier for our people and to develop the community,” he said.

The Business Manager, Adebayo Abayomi, said the oil and gas arm would operate round the clock and offer doorstep delivery services.

“We have strategies, and we have plans for the growth of the business here in Mowe. The first of them is the Oil and Gas Department, where we have our way of dealing with the masses,” Abayomi said.

He added, “The first of it is making sure that we render our services to the less privileged, making sure that even this gas or this product gets to them at their own convenience. So, it means we are working 24-7. So, they can even fill our request for gas products or produce anytime, any day, anywhere, and it will get delivered to us.”

Abayomi said the company would deliver within and outside Mowe. “We are doing home delivery. We are doing late-night delivery. So, it means we are working 24 hours every day. We have our staff and our logistics, who are very ready to deliver nationwide. So, it means even out of the Mowe environment, we can deliver to you. The moment you put a call through, we will get you served with the produce,” he said.

At the car dealership unit, Ariyo said the firm would import vehicles at competitive prices and operate on slim profit margins to make ownership easier.

“The car dealership we are offering, we don’t really capitalise on the major profits. We only bring in cars at cheaper rates, and our car doesn’t last more than two weeks, three weeks. For everybody who wants to buy direct brands from abroad, we bring in those cars at cheaper rates without fear. And within the space of four weeks, the car will arrive in Nigeria, and those who want to buy cheap cars can also fall back on us. We help them to achieve their aim,” he said.

Abayomi reinforced the pricing model, saying, “The funny thing about our car dealership is that we are not a company that will buy for N10 and sell for N500. Once we buy for N10, we are selling for N12. It’s as simple as that. It’s as easy as that. We make sure that we get across to the Nigerian people. We help the community.”

Ariyo said the company had already begun contributing to infrastructure development in the area, including installing streetlights and improving electricity access.

“In this street now, we are trying to put streetlights here. And before, all these places were very dark and uncivilised. Now, we have brought a lot of development here in terms of bringing electricity to the community and in terms of creating job opportunities for people who are really looking for a job but have not been able to find one. Even then, we make everything easier for them. And we are having a very reasonable salary scale”, he remarked.

Abayomi said the firm would prioritise local employment and expand its footprint across departments.

“We make sure that even employment opportunities are being rendered to the local government. Under legal, we are there. Under the car dealership, we are very perfect. Oil and gas, we are standing right”, he stated.

He added that the company had fully commenced operations. “Though we have departments, we have oil and gas; we have a car dealership; we have real estate and the legal department. We are fully ready. We have kick-started today,” Abayomi concluded.
