The Chief of the Air Staff (CAS), Air Marshal Sunday Aneke, has said that the dynamic nature of contemporary security challenges requires constant adaptation in order to contain threats to national security and public safety.
Consequently, the Air Chief has directed Air Component Commanders (ACCs) to strengthen intelligence-led operations, while also deploying technology tools against terrorists.
The Director of Public Relations and Information (DOPRI), Air Commodore Ehimen Ejodame, quoted the CAS as issuing the order at a meeting with the Commanders on Tuesday in Abuja, where he outlined strategies for sustained air operations.
“We must dominate the operational space through superior coordination, innovation, and unwavering professionalism.
“Every sortie, every mission, and every decision must move us closer to total security restoration.
“The Nigerian Air Force stands as a shield over the nation. We remain vigilant, aggressive against threats, and fully aligned with our constitutional duty to safeguard the country,” the CAS was quoted as saying.
“Air Marshal Aneke, however, cautioned that the security environment remains fluid and requires constant adaptation.
“He directed commanders to intensify intelligence-led operations, deepen inter-agency collaboration, and fully exploit modern technology to outpace evolving threats,” the statement added.
The three-star General underscored the importance of standardized training, predictive maintenance, and rapid logistics support as pillars of sustained combat effectiveness.
According to the DOPRI, the meeting featured detailed operational briefings and interactive reviews, with Branch Chiefs and senior officers contributing to a unified operational roadmap.
He said during the engagement, Air Marshal Aneke assured Nigerians that the Nigerian Air Force is maintaining relentless operational momentum and will not yield ground to forces that threaten national stability.
He commended the ACCs and their personnel for their courage, endurance, and operational discipline under demanding combat conditions.
