The Commissioner of Police, Sokoto State Command, CP Ahmed Musa, on Tuesday decorated newly promoted officers of the Command with their new ranks.
The decoration ceremony, held at the Command Headquarters, featured the decoration of 222 Inspectors to the rank of Assistant Superintendent of Police II, following the recommendation of the Inspector General of Police.
CP Musa said the gesture is in line with the vision of the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, to promote professionalism, reward diligence, and motivate personnel for enhanced service delivery.
While congratulating the newly promoted officers, CP Ahmed Musa commended the Inspector-General of Police and the Police Service Commission for their consistent efforts toward improving officers’ welfare, enhancing morale, and recognizing excellence within the Force.
He reminded the decorated officers that promotion comes with higher expectations and greater responsibility, urging them to justify the confidence reposed in them through exemplary conduct, loyalty, and unwavering commitment to the ideals of the Nigeria Police Force.
“Your elevation today is not just a reward for hard work but also a call to higher responsibility. I urge you to uphold the highest ethical standards, maintain integrity in your duties, and continue to serve with courage, discipline, and professionalism,” CP Musa charged.
The Commissioner further emphasised the need for effective community policing, respect for human rights, and proactive crime prevention strategies to sustain peace and security across Sokoto State.
Responding on behalf of the promoted officers, ASP Oche Raphael expressed profound gratitude to the Inspector-General of Police, the Police Service Commission, and the Commissioner of Police, Sokoto State Command.
He assured the Command leadership that the newly promoted officers would rededicate themselves to duty, uphold the core values of the Nigeria Police Force, and discharge their responsibilities with renewed zeal, discipline, and professionalism.
