LG Bets on AI Appliances to Grow Sales in MEA Market

LG Electronics has unveiled a broad range of AI-powered home appliances aimed at strengthening its position across the Middle East and Africa, as competition intensifies in the region’s consumer electronics market.

The company, in a statement on Sunday, said it introduced the lineup at LG InnoFest 2026 MEA, held in Abu Dhabi from February 3 to 5. The exhibition, themed “Innovation, Forward Together,” showcases LG’s latest developments across clothing care, kitchen appliances, built-in kitchen products, and total cleaning solutions, with an emphasis on designs adapted to regional needs.

LG InnoFest is returning after a seven-year break and remains the company’s flagship regional event for partners and the media. LG said the event reflects its long-term commitment to MEA markets, where it continues to expand its footprint.

In the laundry segment, LG is upgrading its residential offerings with larger-capacity appliances that integrate premium designs and its proprietary AI Core-Tech. The products feature AI Wash and AI Dry functions, designed to deliver more efficient washing and drying based on usage patterns.

The lineup is led by the 29-inch LG SIGNATURE WashCombo™, an all-in-one washer-dryer positioned as having the world’s largest capacity. LG is also expanding its LG WashTower™ range with a new 25-inch model, joining existing 24-inch and 27-inch versions, to cater to different installation environments. The WashTower integrates a washer and dryer into a single vertical structure to improve space efficiency.

Also debuting at the event is a new 27-inch WashCombo™, offering a 25-kilogram washing capacity and 21-kilogram drying capacity. The model uses LG’s DUAL Inverter HeatPump™ technology to enhance drying stability and energy efficiency. The company is also displaying a new front-load washer featuring a flat design, integrated LCD display, and AI Direct Drive™ motor, which adjusts washing performance based on load weight and fabric type.

Beyond residential use, LG said it is extending its laundry expertise to the commercial segment, presenting app- and API-based solutions that enable partners to remotely monitor and manage operations.

In kitchen appliances, LG is highlighting its “Fit & Max” concept, which focuses on built-in aesthetics and intelligent functionality. Its refrigerator range includes the LG InstaView™ French Door model with a Zero Clearance hinge and AI Fresh technology, as well as a new bottom freezer model designed for seamless installation. LG said the lineup reinforces its position as the No.1 refrigerator brand in the region.

Cooking appliances on display include a redesigned SolarDOM™ All-in-One Microwave Oven, featuring a semi-built-in design, a 2.4-inch LCD interface, and Wi-Fi connectivity through the LG ThinQ app. The model includes up to 60 Auto Cook menus and functions such as Air Fry.

LG is also showcasing an updated dishwasher range with QuadWash® Pro technology, which uses micro-scale air bubbles to improve cleaning performance and shorten wash cycles. AI SenseClean technology automatically adjusts wash and rinse cycles based on contamination levels, while the 1-Hour Wash & Dry function allows a full cycle in as little as 39 minutes.

For the premium segment, LG introduced a built-in kitchen collection designed for MEA preferences. The Wide Combi built-in refrigerator has been expanded to 690 millimetres in width, increasing internal capacity to 385 litres. The Inverter ProBake™ built-in oven uses a BLDC motor-driven bidirectional fan to deliver faster and more even heating.

The exhibition also features LG’s total cleaning solutions, including a Wet & Dry stick vacuum with an automatic water supply system and a new robot vacuum equipped with 100-degree Celsius steam mopping and a compact, concealed docking station.

“LG is committed to delivering user-centric, locally optimized solutions that make everyday life more convenient for customers across the Middle East and Africa,” said Hyoung Sub Ji, LG West Africa Subsidiary President. “Through continuous innovation and meaningful partnerships, we aim to create lasting value and shared growth in this dynamic region.”
