FSI celebrates six years of driving Africa’s innovation

Financial Services Innovators has marked its sixth anniversary, highlighting years of fostering innovation, developing talent, and supporting startups across Africa.

Since its founding in 2019, FSI has focused on bridging the gap between technology, practical skills, and enterprise growth, with programmes that inspire students in tertiary institutions and provide incubation, acceleration, mentorship, and market exposure for early-stage startups.

The milestone was disclosed in a Tuesday statement by the organisation, which outlined its achievements over the past six years. These include training thousands of students and young professionals, strengthening the link between talent development and real-world problem solving, and collaborating with partners, mentors, sponsors, donors, and ecosystem leaders to deliver impact-driven programmes.

Speaking on the anniversary, FSI Executive Director Dr Aituaz Kola-Oladejo reaffirmed the organisation’s commitment to deepening its impact.

“Six years on, we are proud of how far we have come, but even more excited about what lies ahead. Our journey has always been driven by the belief that Africa’s challenges can be solved by empowered talent and innovative enterprises. None of this would be possible without the trust and support of our partners, mentors, board members, sponsors, and donors,” she said.

FSI plans to expand sector-focused accelerators, scalable innovation programmes, industry partnerships, and regional collaborations, continuing to position young Africans as creators of solutions rather than just beneficiaries of opportunity.
