Cavista Hackathon Returns to Lagos for its Fourth Edition

Cavista Technologies, a portfolio company of Cavista Holdings, has announced the return of its annual hackathon in Lagos, as it prepares to host the fourth edition of the Cavista Technologies Hackathon aimed at identifying and nurturing Nigeria’s next generation of technology talent.

The two-day event is scheduled for 21 to 22 February 2026, at the Welcome Centre Hotel, Ikeja, and will bring together undergraduate students from selected tertiary institutions in Lagos State and its environs. Participants will collaborate in teams to develop innovative solutions to real-world challenges during a 24-hour hackathon spread across the two days.

The tech giant said applications are open to undergraduates with technology skills and a passion for problem-solving. Interested students are required to apply via the Cavista Technologies website, with shortlisted candidates selected to form competing teams.

Winners and runners-up will receive cash prizes worth millions of naira.

Announcing the event, the General Manager of Cavista Technologies, Oyebola Morakinyo, said the 2026 edition would build on the success of previous editions and would be open to students from six tertiary institutions across Lagos and neighbouring areas.

“At Cavista Technologies, our goal is to discover, empower and celebrate Nigeria’s tech talents by providing a platform where young innovators can showcase their creativity and problem-solving skills. Through this initiative, we promote collaboration, entrepreneurship and digital transformation,” Morakinyo said.

She added that while the 2025 edition recorded strong participation, the 2026 hackathon would be elevated with the support of the Ministry of Youth Development and the involvement of technology leaders, including the co-founder of Andela and Future Africa, Iyinoluwa Aboyeji, who is expected to mentor and encourage participants during the event.

As a flagship initiative of Cavista Technologies, a global provider of software solutions and development services, the hackathon reflects the company’s commitment to fostering innovation and supporting the growth of young technology professionals. The 2026 edition will also run simultaneously in Cavista Technologies’ global offices in the United States, India and Botswana.

Expected at the Lagos event are key industry stakeholders, including Minister of Youth Development Ayodele Olawande, alongside technology experts and industry leaders.
