The General Overseer of the Mountain of Fire and Miracles Ministries (MFM), Dr. Daniel Olukoya, says 2026 will be a “fast, strange and troublesome year”, urging intense prayers and spiritual vigilance. He also urged believers to engage in fervent prayers to avert looming crises and to pray against strange occurrences, including fire explosions.
In his New Year’s Day prophetic outlook during the church’s crossover service at the MFM Prayer City along the Lagos– Ibadan Expressway, Olukoya said the events of 2025 are “dovetailing” into 2026, making the new year one that requires heightened spiritual alertness. According to him, the tables of “evil traders” operating within churches will be turned upside down this year.
Olukoya warned such individuals to desist or face the wrath of God. The professionals also said Tinubu’s New Year’s Day address, where he listed his administration’s achievements in the last two years, was inconsistent with reality on the ground. According to them, Nigerians have lost confidence in the current administration due to its alleged unprecedented failure.

“The rising trend of in- security across the country remains disturbing. “Spiralling inflation, de- bilitating hunger, and corrosive poverty were evident in the lives of many people.” It added: “In the year 2026, it is necessary to reiterate that there is an urgent need to comprehensively tackle insecurity, because true and meaningful development of a nation and people can only be achieved through peace, and safety of life and praying persistently until results are achieved, avoiding fear and anxiety, self encouragement, refusing unhealthy comparisons, striving for excellence, living a holy life, and cultivating discipline and hard work. “Others are constant praise, honesty, Christian love, time consciousness, goal-setting, deep study of the Bible, and learning to hear from God.”
