Amani & Kreston empower 1,000 Lagos children with skills

Amani Health, a health-tech company focused on mental wellness for individuals and organisations, has empowered over 1,000 children in Lagos through vision-building, goal-setting, and skill-development programmes aimed at helping young people define their goals and build confidence, competence, and capacity for the future.

Recently, Amani Health, in partnership with Kreston Pedabo, a professional financial services firm in Nigeria, delivered a visioning and goal-setting event for children and teens as part of its corporate social responsibility efforts, according to a statement on Monday. The event brought together children from Falomo High School, Slum2School Africa in Makoko, and other underserved communities in Lagos.

The programme was designed to help children reflect on their aspirations, build emotional awareness, and develop goal-setting skills at an early stage, particularly in response to growing social and academic pressures faced by young people.

The event was facilitated by Amani Health’s Co-founder, Ayodele Fasuyi, who led guided activities focused on envisioning the future through emotional intelligence, self-expression, and skill development. Through structured sessions, participants were encouraged to identify their dreams, understand their strengths, and build confidence in their abilities.

The organisers said the event created a safe and supportive environment where participants could openly express themselves, explore their ambitions, and begin to see possibilities beyond their immediate circumstances. Activities included vision board creation, group discussions, creative exercises, and mentorship conversations designed to help children develop clarity, confidence, and a positive mindset.

Speaking on the initiative, the Co-founder of Amani Health, Mr Fasuyi Oluwarotimi, noted that children today face increasing challenges, including academic pressure, peer comparison, social media influence, and anxiety about the future.

He said the Visioning and Goal Setting event was designed to address these issues by helping participants develop emotional resilience, healthy self-esteem, and a clearer sense of direction, while introducing practical goal-setting techniques applicable in school and everyday life.

With support from Kreston Pedabo, 100 children were fully sponsored to attend the event at no cost. Each participant left with a personalised vision board, goal-setting workbooks, and a My Emotion Handbook for self-development, alongside renewed confidence in their ability to plan for the future.

The initiative was described by the organisers as more than a one-day activity, with emphasis on its long-term value in shaping how children think about their goals, emotions, and personal growth.

Kreston Pedabo, which provides audit, tax, advisory, and consulting services, supported the event as part of its commitment to skill development, youth empowerment, and community development, contributing to expanded access to life-skills education for children who may not otherwise have such opportunities.

Amani Health said the programme aligns with its broader mission of promoting emotional well-being, confidence and life-skills development among children and teenagers. Through initiatives such as the Vision and Goal Setting Workshop and the Excel Beyond Classroom Program, the company continues to create platforms that support emotional growth, self-awareness and purposeful living among young people.

The statement stated that parents, schools and organisations interested in partnering with Amani Health or supporting future editions of the programme can find more information via www.amanihealth.app or through its social media platforms.
