The National Film and Video Censors Board, under the leadership of its Executive Director and Chief Executive Officer, Dr Shaibu Husseini, celebrated the lives of creative torchbearers who have shaped our collective memories, enriched cultural expression, and illuminated national identity on Wednesday, October 19, 2025.
The event, which climaxed the 5th PAO Nigeria Digital Content Regulation Conference held at the MUSON Centre in Lagos, attracted a great number of players in the entertainment industry. The awardees are twenty-three Nollywood greats who have given at least twenty years in their careers and are in their 50s and 60s.
The honorees include Ngozi Ezeonu, Ali Baba, Lillian Amah, Kingsley Ogoro, Francis Onwochei, Jude Chukwuka, Chief Chimdi Chiama, Steve Gukas, Segun Arinze, MD/CEO of Jungle Filmworks Ltd, Oluwaseyi Siwoku, Hafizu Bello, Saeed Mohammed (Funky Mallam), Taiwo Adeyeye, Ahmad Sarari, Princess Bukola Agunlejika, Prince Aquila Njamah, Veronika Dikko Kila (Ronnie Dikko), Bond Emeruwa, Adebayo Tijani, Sam Dede,
Chairman of Occasion, Andy Boyo, congratulated the honorees and noted that the initiative was laudable and a good step in the right direction.
The NFVCB leader, Hussein, noted that plans are on to bring all the guilds together and forge out a self-regulated policy for the movie sector.
”The initiative by the NFVCB is borne out of a deep commitment to recognise the practitioners whose talent, resilience, and artistic excellence have sustained and elevated the Nigerian film industry”, he said in his remarks.
