Popular comedian and filmmaker Ayo Makun, better known as AY Comedian, has lamented Nigeria’s deepening insecurity.
AY stated that Nigeria is “turning into a crime scene,” describing how bandits now storm churches to kill and abduct Christians, children are kidnapped from schools, and even a Brigadier General has been shot dead, all while the government remains silent.
His comment reflects the growing frustration among Nigerians who feel increasingly unsafe as violent attacks spread across many parts of the country.
AY questioned how the nation got to this tragic point, noting that every passing day brings fresh chaos, new kidnappings, and avoidable bloodshed.

He expressed disbelief that these attacks continue unchecked without decisive action or communication from those in power.
According to him, the silence of the government in the face of killings and abductions sends a dangerous message that citizens are left to fend for themselves.
AY also wondered whether Nigeria has reached a level where outsiders will now be needed to resolve what local leaders have consistently failed to confront.
“How did we get here? And must outsiders come to fix what our leaders refuse to confront”, he questioned.
He further made a call to action, asking “Which way Nigeria?” and insisting that the country urgently needs safety, accountability and real action instead of silence and political indifference.
